Jaw reconstruction using an autologous graft from the pelvis

Monday June 26th, 2017

A successful reconstruction of a lower jaw using an autologous bone graft from the pelvic bone was performed according to our plan by the Clinic of Oral, Jaw and Facial Surgery of the University Hospital Brno. It was a primary reconstruction where the angle of mandible had to be removed due to an aggressive tumour. It was not possible to use an autologous bone graft from the tibia. It was the first case of this type we performed.
